Taiwan: Parodies Forced to Retract by Copyright Owner

Via 喵之卷, under the request of the copyright owner in Taiwan, Shoda announced the removable of the parodies on the "Infernal Affairs" trilogy, a famous Hong-Kong film series.

"無間道cd-pro2" refers to a series of phenomenal parodies on 無間道(Infernal Affairs)。

At the same time, another parody site 布蘭卡 also announced total removal of parody art work.

布蘭卡's parodies were on 無間道 and some other films.

Okay, that's another example how a strict copyright law/concept could damage emerging new artists' works. By the way, the phrases the copyright owner chose are neither friendly nor legally correct under Taiwanese copyright law. But who would like to be stupid enough to waste time and money just fighting for for nothing?

(update: Followed by some news...)
